Proxmox – Create a Debian container

Install Debian Template

 Open Packages

proxmox-select-template

1. Select local

2. Select Content

3. Select Templates

 Select Debian Package

proxmox-template

1. Choose Debian-7.0-standard distribution

2. Select Download

Create new virtual server

Open OpenVZ Container

1. Clic on CreateCT

Create OpenVZ Container

1. Enter Hostname, this also define the VM address IP: 192.168.0.hostname

2. Choose Password

3. Select Debian 7 Template

It is possible to change Resources later

4. Enter the IP address

proxmox-vz-5
Don’t set DNS

proxmox-vz-6
5. Select Finish

Your VM is created

proxmox-vm-created

Configure system

Connect with ssh on your new WM

update get the last versions of debian packages

# apt-get update

 Configure Network

Connect with ssh on your new WM

Show routes :

#route -n

If the gateway 192.168.0.1 is missing, execute:

# route add default gw 192.168.0.1
