Tutorial to install Ionic on Ubuntu


To install NodeJs, execute:

# sudo apt-get install curl
# curl --silent --location | sudo bash -
# sudo apt-get install --yes nodejs

To install Ionic, execute:

# sudo npm install -g cordova ionic

Create an App

# ionic start <app_name> tabs

Answer the ionic question:

Create an account to send Push Notifications and use the Ionic View app?
(Y/n): n

Enter in directory

# cd <app_name>

Get mobile application view on a web browser

# ionic serve --lab

if you are on a server, choose 2, if you are on your localhost, choose 3
Then your application should appear on your web browser


To display mobile view, add /ionic-lab in the url:


Export the application on mobile

On Android

To add Android platform, execute:

# ionic platform add android

To enable debugging mode on the mobile phone, go to

settings => System => Developper options => Enable USB Debugging

To push the application, install Android SDK and Install Stand-alone SDK Tools. You will require:
1. “SDK Platform” for android-22
2. “Android SDK Platform-tools (latest)
3. “Android SDK Build-tools” (latest)

Then execute:

# ionic run android --device

If your device is not found, go on “Device Manager” to see if there are some problems with the device.
If Android & CDC Serial get errors, install Mobile Drivers

On Ios

To add Ios platform, execute:

# ionic platform add ios

And then… I need a Mac to build the application to write the sequel
